What we’re about
Long Island Sound Catalina Sailing Association (LISCA) includes Catalina and other sailboat model owners who sail on or hail from Long Island Sound.
It includes over 50 member boats from New York and Connecticut, with an all-inclusive fleet of Catalinas, and other Sailboat models, ranging from 22 feet through 47 feet.
LISCA is recognized by the National Catalina Association.
If you own a sailboat or are interested in sailing this might be the group for you, sailing is more than just a past time, it’s a way of life. It’s freedom, it’s adventure, exploration and travel, it’s being more in tune with nature, the environment and the impact you have upon it, it’s peace and quiet – wind, waves, sunsets, sunrises and stars, it’s also an intense challenge and an indescribable feeling when you overcome your fears and realize you are capable of more than you ever thought possible, it’s a whole new world of friends, like-minded people from completely different walks of life that understand you in a way even your closest friends and family do not, it’s being master of your own little floating universe – ultimate independence and therefore ultimate responsibility falls on you.
In this group you will find new friend that are passionate about sailing, and love to talk about sailing and can offer a wealth of knowledge and guidance for new commers to the sport.
Events include beach barbeques and raft ups, overnight stays in Long Island Sound Harbors and potluck meetups.
