Join us on Sunday, February 8th for an invigorating cold plunge in the Isar river, followed by a warm chocolate and casual chats.

Cold exposure is a cornerstone of longevity, known for reducing inflammation, improving metabolic health, and building stress resilience. To ensure we do this safely and effectively, we are thrilled to have Mirco Schanz lead the session.

👤 Meet Your Host: Mirco Schanz
Mirco is a dedicated cold exposure and meditation expert (founder of Meditation mit Mirco). He helps people stay calm when things get uncomfortable, making him the perfect guide for those looking to conquer the "cold shock" response and find stillness in the Isar.

🗓️ The Plan

  • 10:00 AM: meet at the Kabelsteg (exact outdoor location here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Bb6HwnpGAWUn2JhU8?g_st=ic)
  • Theory: Mirco will explain the science of thermoregulation, the benefits of cold exposure, and the protocol for a safe entry and exit.
  • Plunge: A guided group dip into the Isar.
  • Warm-up: After drying off, we’ll go to a nearby café for warm tea, hot chocolate, or matcha to celebrate the experience and share the post-plunge "high."

🎒 What to Bring
The event is free to join. Just bring some cash for a warm drink afterwards! To stay safe and comfortable, please pack the following:

  • Swimwear (worn underneath your clothes for an easy change).
  • A warm hat (essential: this is where you lose the most heat!).
  • Gloves & a towel
  • Water shoes or flip-flops.
  • Something to stand on (an old yoga mat or extra towel) so you aren't on the cold ground.
  • Warm, loose layers that are easy to put back on while your hands are cold.
  • (optional) A surfing poncho (or a large robe) for changing discreetly.

⚠️ Safety & Requirements

  • Contraindications: If you have or had high blood pressure, heart conditions, epilepsy, panic attacks, severe asthma, kidney failure, recent surgeries, open wounds, Raynaud's syndrome, cold allergy, infections or are pregnant, we kindly ask that you sit this one out. When in doubt, please consult your doctor before joining.
