What we're about

Our goal is to encourage more people to ride more often and provide as many opportunities for that as possible.

We try to be inclusive and provide rides for bicyclists of all ability levels and speeds. Read this to learn how we rate our rides: http://tinyurl.com/87s2bme

If you are a new or returning cyclist, we hope you will find some rides scheduled here that match what you want to do. If not, please email lauren, our organizer, or suggest a ride on the home page. All members can suggest and create rides.

If you are located in or near Longmont and would like to help us organize rides in this area, I would be happy to make you an Event Organizer... If you have requests or ideas for rides, let me know. Event Organizers are needed to lead both road and mountain bike rides. It doesn't take much to lead a ride... you just have to show up.

Wednesdays on Wheels

Longmont Senior Center

Meet at the picnic table at 9:15 - we will do intros and safety checks; wheels down shortly thereafter, and we will ride for 90 minutes. please note - this ride is more about SMILES than MILES. If you're interested in more miles, ride from home and back home afterwards! Please note - this is a City of Longmont sponsored event. We will briefly address best/safest riding practice and any questions will be addressed pre/during/post ride. We will obey all traffic laws and practice safe riding, whether on multi use paths, roads or bike lanes. That said, we will have FUN! ***COVID-19 Update*** Attend at your own risk. There will be no “congregating.” When we briefly meet at the picnic table, this is where we especially need to practice physical distancing. Attendees must have a mask on and able to put it on quickly when riding. And of course, if you have any symptoms or potentially have been exposed, use common sense and stay home. We will decide on a route and quickly depart. Please continue physical distancing when at stops, etc. Again. . .attend at your own risk, think of not just yourself, but others as well. Be smart and responsible. Thanks so much to Debbie, Jane and Richard for taking the helm during my absence! Join this casual Wednesday no drop ride! We'll start with safety checks - bikes, helmets and a safety tip of the day. Ride will be combination of roads with bike lanes, trails and low traffic roads, perfect for the new rider, those seeking camaraderie, confidence or just a great start to the middle of the week. Road, hybrid or mountain bikes will work. Everyone must wear helmets (I can provide with advance notice). Please bring spare tube for your tire size, water, ID and snack/money as we may stop for a coffee! Weekly route will vary; beginners are ENCOURAGED!!! Contact me with any questions.
