Rescheduled: Friday’s weather looks decent. An introductory trail ride. We’re going to do a loop out to Sandstone Ranch on the St. Vrain Greenway, over on the path past Union Reservoir and the park at the end of the paved path. We’ll leave the return up to the ride members since some people want to avoid roads. At the park if you wanted a more direct return and do not mind road bike lanes, Mountain View west to Airport Road is the quickest. Path riders will reverse to get back to the Airport. The reverse allows a coffee stop at Sandstone Ranch or beverages at Red Frog, if a stop is desired to chat and a brief rest. This would be a good ride for new members especially to meet the regulars. We’ll keep an eye on the weather, and cancel if it looks like high winds or precip. All our rides are no-drop, so if someone gets a flat the group will make sure the bike is repaired or help with the recovery of said bike. We are a very capable and resourceful group.
Ride distance is approximately 22 miles. Any bike is acceptable for this ride, average speed is typically 12 mph on this trail ride. We can temper our speed if necessary. We will hope to have a sweep to make sure we don't lose anyone in the back. People who plan to peel off before returning to the parking lot should tell the ride leader of their intention.
Advised to bring a tube and the means to pump up a flat. Some of us carry basic tools like Allen wrenches and tire tools. Bring a snack, and water of course.
We’re currently working on boilerplate verbiage as the group name will probably change so look for this area to become more standardized in future rides. Also look for easy gravel and road rides
