Longmont Walks Goes to Rocky Mountain National Arsenal

TYPE: Walk | PACE: Moderate | TERRAIN: Paved Multi-Use Trail | DISTANCE: Approx. 3.5 miles
We’re heading out to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge for a scenic loop with big skies, lakes, and solid chances for wildlife sightings.
We’ll start at the Pat Schroeder Visitor Center, follow the Legacy Trail, loop around Lake Mary and Ladora Lake, and return via the Rocky Mountain Greenway Trail. This is mostly dirt paths which are pretty smooth.
After the walk, folks are welcome to visit the Visitor Center and caravan the Wildlife Drive to try to spot bison, deer, and birds.
Post-walk / lunch stop: Carmella’s Pizza Grill.
Great local carb up spot with good reviews.

### How to Prepare:
Wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for paved trails and bring water—there’s limited shade along parts of the route. Layers are recommended for a cool start that may warm up as we walk. As always, listen to your body and adjust as needed.
