Felix and Joe combined their hike for the purpose of checking out Commonwealth gate, and other locations, and Lee lead with Kurt to Water Tank 153 to tack pics of tagging. We were part of a task force...kinda fun

Lee, thanks again for organizing this! Just to let everyone know, the Sierra Club Griffith Park Section also has evening hikes (with a variety of levels) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To find out more, please check out our new Meetup group:

If you hike with Sierra club they have you sign a liability waiver and give you a card.

Hi Lee, I had one for years too, until I lost it. But more recently they have shifted to a yearly system. You sign the waiver and get a waiver card that’s good until the end of the year.

    April 24, 2013

    • Emmy

Sondra, Weather.com predicts no rain in the park (90027 zip code) until midnight. But I’m not in the park yet so I don’t know whether they’re right. ;-)

    What's the "waiver card" about?

    April 24, 2013

    • Lee Z.

Sierra Club does not want you to sue them if you hurt yourself....much like our waiver statements on Meetups.

what waiver? I am new . How do I comply? " No I will no hold Lee responsible for my feets' happiness, blah blah blah..."

This might be a silly question, but are dogs allowed to come?

    April 24, 2013

    • Emmy

Evan, I don’t know Lee’s policy, but the Sierra Club Griffith Park Section’s official policy is that “well-behaved dogs on leash are permitted at the discretion of the hike leader.” I’ve never seen Felix Martinez, who’s leading the intermediate SC hike, turn away someone with a dog. I don’t know about Joe Young, who’s leading the advanced SC hike.
