Mt Zion Loop from Chantry Flats

Details
10 miles of glorious forest, with 2,000 ft elevation gain.
We'll hike along the Winter Creek Trail before ascending to Mt. Zion and then head back along the north side of the peak, through beautiful sections of the Angeles Forest.
We will take our time, stopping to relax in the forest, and hopefully find a watering hole to dip our feet in.
This is my favorite spot in the Los Angeles area, home of Sturtevant Falls and Hoegee's Camp. Unfortunately, lots of people love this area as well. That's why we need to get there by 7 am (honestly, I recommend getting there when the gates open at 6 am to make sure you find parking - I've seen this parking lot fill up by 6:45). If you can't find parking in one of the lots, you may need to park down the hill and walk up.
Bring: Forest Adventure Pass (required in this spot), hiking shoes, 3 liters of water, sun protection/ comfortable clothes, snack/ lunch.
Bathroom: at the trailhead
Dogs: No
