Are you guys doing a full moon hike this coming Sunday, August 10, 2014? If not, is there another meet-up group that is? Thanks

    August 8, 2014

  • Lee Z.

We should not worry about things and food and sharing. It is all about love that we share. Those who cannot bring food, we welcome them to have some of ours. Peace and Goodwill for all.

I can only speak for myself but everyone will always be welcome to share anything I bring regardless of whether they brought food or not. We don't know everyone's circumstances and I believe it is more of a blessing to give than receive so I can't be bothered to put energy in tit for tat thinking. Also, there were at least three tables of meet up folks. I put my pan of dessert bars on a different table than where I sat to eat because there was room. I certainly hope no one thought I was a mooch. Most people simply don't take advantage, a few might, but that's always going to be the odds in a group setting. Let's be kind to one another.

Those dessert bars were yours? The chocolate-y, s'mores-y things? They ROCKED!

      September 22, 2013

    • Estellaleigh F.

Thank you! I felt a little bad about bringing them because the theme of the evening seemed to be about healthy things. But who doesn't enjoy a little treat!

    Sweet hike. Thanks all.

    September 22, 2013

As anyone noticed the fantastic sky in the last 2 or 3 weeks. It is a majesty of blue with few if any clouds. No chemtrails anymore, either.

    September 22, 2013

  • BJORN

When the Moon first came out of the clouds such an Orange Moon.....later when higher in the night sky it was the familiar Bright White Moon. Such a TREAT FOR THE Night HIKE!

I believe we should share when we can, it is not anyone's to judge or keep a count on others. We are all adults if you feel you don't want to share even when others don't bring anything, it's not good to be in a group. We don't know their situation, but they have a good heart. We are there to have a good time, it is the only time for some people to be in contact with people, I think we should make best out of it. Who are any of you to even put others down. Because of them the event was AWESOME! Even though I did not get to go.

i agree with you anna! however there is a big difference between you being very honest and letting people know your situation and other individuals who constantly are doing this without any consideration or feeling any type of guilt. I've observed this on many of the hikes. Personally, i attended a hike with another group and i didnt bring anything to eat and even though i was offered food, I simply did not eat because it was disrespectful. I was content with drinking the water I brought.
I also agree with your statement Faustino!!!

    September 22, 2013

  • Faustino

Great hike and party Lee! My apologies for voicing this but I feel it necessary to bring it up. A handful of attendees bring nothing or next to nothing but enjoy feasting like "Royalty" at the expense of others who haul their contributions to the top. It's just totally inappropriate in my opinion! If you plan on bringing nothing or next to nothing perhaps you should be content with counting stars instead of eating and drinking. :)

Trying again to post this, think my computer has a glitch. Great hike and view and thanks, Lee for having the moon show up at just the right time for some good pictures! How DO you do that?

    September 22, 2013

  • Lee Z.

Thanks everyone for coming. It was a fantastically beautiful night and the moon awesome. These nights are the best hiking events with the combination of friends, food and good cheer.

Hey, I attended this hike but it looks like I didn't actually RSVP to it. Oops. Anyway, it was a fun hike and the semi-full moon made a dramatic appearance, right on cue, in the way down.

Shauna Leland, I have your portable doggie water dish. You left it under the picnic table at the top. Email me at [masked].

Thanks again to the lady who found my dropped car keys! What a lifesaver. Great hike as usual, thanks Lee for organizing. Personal best for me as this is the first time I've trucked up the entire way without stopping to catch my breath. This senior is feeling pretty fabulous.

Identifiable pictures are a requirement...I know I have told some of you before....when you first sign up, that is one of the rules specified. Ned, Annie, Rimona, Henry, Gisselle, Steve, Incagirl...please comply

Well said Estellaleigh. As a man I do not have the same concerns as you, but your point is valid. I am happy to say in our 7 year experience we have never had any trolls, derelicts, or weirdos cause trouble EXCEPT there have been some strange dudes now and then making women uncomfortable with their univited advances. Those types to not last in LA Hiking Club.

Uhm, just saw this. As stated (to Anna) I was in disagreement that photos should be mandatory on every Meetup group - other than The LATG. Especially with Lee...I'd be the first to disappear ;) Thank you for your concern Miss E and Lee!

I'd really like to go. Is it possible to break this up into 2 groups to open up more slots?

    September 18, 2013

    • Lee Z.

I've had a bunch of requests from those on the waiting list.....OK, there are a couple people who can take groups. I will bring up the slow people (cuz I'm a slow people)---just remember to save me a spot at one of the picnic tables.
