Reviving hikes cancelled by other Meetup hike leaders, #2

My friend Dean had a hike scheduled for this evening here, but this morning I got an email from him postponing it for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I have made other plans already for then, so TIME FOR A FLASH HIKE TODAY, SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH!

Please arrive at 4:45, and hike starts at 5 pm SHARP!!!

We will go from the parking lot north on the Musch trail to Musch Camp. Somewhere from here there is a trail leading to Cheney Trail, which connects to the Eagle Rock loop trail just east of the rock. So there will be a little exploration on the route between Musch and Cheney trail. If it looks too difficult, we can always backtrack and take the Musch trail up to the Eagle Rock fireroad and to the rock.

Relax.....

We will meet at the restrooms in the big parking lot.

There are flush toilets and water fountains there.

BRING 3 TO 4 LITERS OF WATER, AS IT IS EXPECTED TO HIT 85 DEGREES

BRING MUNCHIES, DRINKS TO SHARE, ETC FOR THE 45 MINUTES OR SO WE WILL ROOST ON EAGLE ROCK

Sunset is 7:10 pm

DIRECTIONS:

I recommend taking the 101 freeway to Topanga Canyon, taking the southbound exit and driving 7 or 8 miles over the hill and to the Topanga State Park entrance sign which is at Entrada Road. Then drive up the hill on Entrada and it leads into the parking lot.

Normally, you have to pay $12 to $15 to park, but if you park on the streets leading into the park, parking is free. BUT: MAKE SURE YOUR TIRES ARE ALL TO THE RIGHT OF THE WHITE LINE OR THE COPS WRITE TICKETS!
