WHERE: Beautiful west side of Topanga Canyon, a two mile hike up to the rock pools.
PARKING: Along Old Topanga Canyon Road about a quarter mile north of the intersection with Topanga Canyon Blvd. There is a horse crossing sign sign by the trailhead. My blue Acura Integra will be there.
SEE: Wildflowers, oak trees, attractive fellow hikers....
ELEVATION GAIN: about 300 feet on a single track--meaning not a jeep or mountain bike trail.
FREEWAY DIRECTIONS: Take the 101 freeway to Topanga Canyon Blvd. From the 101, head south 5 miles or so to the intersection with Old Topanga Canyon Road. You will be right in the middle of the Topanga commercial area (next to the Inn of the Seventh Ray restaurant) . Turn right on Old Topanga. Go 1/4 mile to the trailhead. The trail goes west from where we park, crossing a stream. then heading up the hill to the rock pools.
DIRECTIONS FROM PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY: go north on Topanga Canyon Blvd about 5 miles and turn left at the Old Topanga Canyon Road. Again....parking is on the left side of the road about a 1/4 mile to the north.
