From Inspiration Pt. we will proceed in a westerly direction along a service road and down along the remains of the Old rail bed. Along the way we pass through such places as Horseshoe Curve, Cape of Good Hope the Grand Circular Bridge, and the Granite Gate. Along this portion of our hike we will see several fact boards which provide pictures and information about the area. We will proceed down toward Echo Mtn. and then turn west to the Sam Merrill Trail for our return to The Cobb Estate. A good portion of this hike is on open unshaded trail.
