THIS IS A LIMITED SIZE HIKE!!!! IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT OR CHANGE YOUR MIND UPDATE YOUR RSVP ASAP SO THAT THOSE ON THE WAITING LIST CAN ATTEND!!!!
We will proceed up the Upper Winter Creek trail to Hoagees. From here we can decide which way to loop. We can either head up to Manzanita Ridge to Mt Harvard and then to Mt. Wilson, or continue to Spruce grove from which we continue to Mt. Wilson. I’m leaning toward Spruce Grove up and Manzanita Ridge down. There is a TREMEDOUS amount of Astronomical history to be experienced on Mt. Wilson!! Time permitting we can take a tour of the grounds around Mt Wilson. Unfortunately the Museum is closed for the season. Bring a MINIMUM of 4 liters of water as there are NO sources of water available at the top that I am aware of until the café and restrooms are re opened in April, snacks / food, camera, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses.
Meet up in the north end of the REI parking lot, we will arrange carpools from there. An adventure pass IS required to park at Chantry Flats.
