This is a training series. Training for endurance and speed.
We will hike nonstop from the main gate at Lake Street to Echo Mtn. 2.7 miles. I will continue this hike weekly and each week we will increase our speed, endurance and pack weight (to a point - no running or packs over 20 lbs).
I hope to make this a regular affair every Tuesday, but due to work constraints, I have currently have to play it by ear.
After a few outings, we will extend this hike all the way to Inspiration Point. 4.9 miles. Again, I will be carrying a progressivly heavier and heavier day pack on each outing.
We will hike while the sunsets, watch the twilight hour come over downtown Los Angeles and then return to our vehicles via headlamp.
