Friday Night Hike and Potluck Party AND Full MOON
at Mt Hollywood / Griffith Park

The total lunar eclipse (http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/total-lunar-eclipse.html) (*) will occur on April 4, 2015. Most of North America, South America, Asia and parts of Australia will be able to see the eclipse.
The eclipse will last for 3 hours and 29 mins from beginning to end. The Moon will be totally eclipsed (totality) for about 5 minutes.

Flashlights: you probably don't need on at all....but just in case you bring one, make sure it has a colored lens....red, green or blue. Bright white light ruins your night vision and everyone else's around you.
Closest GPS Address: Ranger Station, 4730 Crystal Springs Drive Los Angeles, CA 90027
From Ranger Station drive west uphill road toward parking lots & Merry Go Round...there are signs pointing the way. Drive Through Parking Lot #1 and continue to Parking Lot#2 - then down hill to Parking Lot 3.

Make a NOTE: We will hike up ankle breaker, past water tank 113, up Cardiac Hill to Mt. Hollywood.
We will share food and drink at the top.
NOTICE: bring food....NOT snacks. Think of this as a potluck picnic
This will be a 3 hour event. We should be back to the parking lot by 9:30 - 10. You can leave early if you like
