Join us for a fun, moderately strenuoue hike to wrap up Labor Day weekend with, before we return to reality. Santa Ynez canyon to Trippet Ranch hike starts through a forested, secluded canyon bottom, climbs up on the ridge to some great views and finishes in the picnic benches and shady oaks of Trippet Ranch.

Hike basics: approx. 6 miles

approx. 1000 to 1400 feet elevation gain

about 3 hours. Shady at beginning, exposed and scenic in middle, partly shady at end.

You know the drill: Sturdy hiking shoes

basic first aid
enough water (1-2 liters)
snacks
flashlight/headlamp
phone/camera
etc.

A few rules of courtesy:

We will leave NO LATER THAN 4:45!!

Please take care of bathroom, etc. BEFORE hand. There are no bathrooms, but you can use public bathrooms in DT Pacific Palisades before you arrive.

I typically hike at what I can gather as being the average pace for the group.

If you want to charge ahead, you are welcome to, but you are responsible for knowing where you are going.

If you have a heart condition that affects your ability for physical exertion, or are recovering from an injury or if you have not hiked within the past three months, something that included some uphill, I would discourage you from coming.

Here is a streetview snapshot of where we will meet:

Other than that I hope to see you on the trail!
