December 20th, we, Friends Of Echo Mountain, along with Los Angeles Hiking Group, will be having the First Annual Echo Mountain Festival of Lights!
Come join us as we LIGHT UP THE MOUNTAIN!
We will start hiking up the trail between 5 and 6 PM.
The idea is to light up the entire trail from the bottom to the top of Echo Mountain.
At 6:30 PM, Photographers will take pictures of the mountain from across Las Flores Canyon, and other places in Pasadena.
We want the 2.6 mile trail to be loaded with peeps with lights on.
Bring all the lights you can carry or wear!
Colored lights or white lights are fine, no candles or flames, please.
Don't miss this Fun Holiday Hike!
There isn't a definitive meeting time, besides between 5 and 6 PM. The reason for this is that we need everyone to be spread out over the entire 2.6 miles. If everyone left at the same time, it would be chaos and we wouldn't have the effect we hope to create for the photograph. So if it takes approx. 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the summit, if some people head up at 5:30 and every few minutes another batch starts up at say 5:40 etc. etc. we may have the hill well populated with lights on by 6:30.
The best place for parking would be at Farnsworth park, as parking will get full pretty fast.
Once again we plan to take pictures at 6:30. This will give everyone time to either make it to the top, or be somewhere along the trail in time for a picture.
