Hike At A New Rock Play Park in the West San Fernando Valley

Dayton Canyon Park is 240 acres recently given to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy by a builder of homes at the bottom of the canyon.

We will hike down the canyon then back up on mostly a loop trail. It is a rocky trail so expect rutted uneven surfaces...

We will stop to explore rocks and caves and act like monkeys periodically.

The lower part of the canyon is shady. Not so for the rock play areas.
