Vasquez Rocks, Caves And Fun Rocks--nothing too crazy...and Pizza

We will hit some of the usual fun rock climbing spots. All are suitable for those with a moderate level of hiking experience, no ropes needed.

HIGHLIGHTS: the Famous "Star Trek" Rocks, the fake pictographs, the Hogbacks, the Big Cave and the Cliffs by the Freeway (300 foot elevation gain here; cool rocks and a cave at the top!) NOTE: We will not be doing the "looney ledge" this time.

where to meet: DRIVE A 1/2 MILE INTO THE PARK . You will pass thru a narrow slot between large rocks. Park near 2 or 3 porta-potties. PARK ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE FAMOUS ROCKS (WHICH IS THE PICTURE ON THIS PAGE (and which Google maps calls the "Star Trek Historic Site"):
