It's Called The Mon-ster Maze; & It's a grave-yard craze....(in Chatsworth)

It's Called The Mon-ster Maze; & It's a grave-yard craze....(in Chatsworth)

Details

We will meet at the Lassen St. and Andora Ave. entrance to Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park (next to the Oakwood Cemetery). Then climb up the Miranda loop for the exercise portion of this romp. Then we regain our senses and ascend again to the Labyrinth Rocks, home to the NEW monster maze.

The Monster Maze winds its way between a cluster of 20 foot tall sandstone boulders, which were once part of one or two flat-topped rocks which split via vertical cracks, creating a neat network of spooky paths in-between. A bit of imagination and trail-trimming helped make this place ready for Halloween partying. You can follow the maze and/or climb the rocks, do something called "chimneying" to climb up the cracks, or just laugh at the rest of the lunatics.

DISTANCE: no more than three miles. Difficulty: medium (or for cannibals, well-done)

BRING: snacks and dinner items to share, water, other drinks, comfy shoes, hat, rock scrambling gloves, headlamp or flashlight. We will be lounging on the flat smooth top rocks watching the dark scary moon rise.

Scary stuff!
