1200 FEET ELEVATION GAIN ON 3.8 MILES TO EAGLE ROCK. UPHILL BY 200 FEET MORE TO CATHEDRAL ROCKS (AKA TEMESCAL PEAK AREA).
Westart at Santa Inez trailhead on Vereda de la Montura, off of Palisades Drive
hike thru a shady canyon past a few caves for 3/4 mile, then up a sunny ridge to Eagle rock and its caves. Then we continue on the backbone trail past a restroom to the Cathedral rocks. Then we follow the Temescal ridge fire road south to Trailer canyon fire road, then downhill to our cars or skateboards. (Temescal ridge features two paths, a wide jeep road and a narrow up and down trail that follows the summits. You can do either)
Chow afterwards is at Souplantation which is located at the intersection of Montana and San Vicente in Brentwood.
