We start at the outdoor furniture store called Jalan Jalan Imports, home of Owl Falls, a 40-foot tall roadside waterfall. We walk a quarter mile towards the ocean on the west side of Topanga Canyon Blvd to just south of the "slippery when wet" road sign. We will then hop-over the guard rail and enter the mysterious Time Tunnel and drop down to the creek.
Bring swimwear, a hat, lots of water, shoes you can get wet, maybe an umbrella: don't get cooked by the sun!.
We will see SEVERAL NATURAL SPRING-FED SWIMMING HOLES, SEVERAL SMALL WATERFALLS, AND THE RAIN ROOM (A GROTTO/MULTIPLE WATERFALLS IN A ROOM UNDER A ROCK),
... ALL IN NEARBY TOPANGA CANYON WITH NO LONG DRIVE ON REALLY TWISTY ROADS
ELEVATION GAIN AND LOSS: A HUNDRED FEET AT THE MOST
THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR POISON OAK CONTACT
THE TOPANGA CREEK HIKE FOLLOWS THE WEST SIDE OF CREEK FOR MOST OF THE ROUTE AND FEATURES LOTS OF CLIMBING OVER 3 TO 4 FOOT TALL BOULDERS. There are also a few rusty car bodies to avoid. YOU WILL USE YOUR HANDS AS WELL AS YOUR FEET. THAT'S WHY I CALL MY HIKES "MONKEYING AROUND".
