Viewridge to Old Topanga via the Summit to Summit trail

TOPANGA'S SUMMIT TO SUMMIT MOTORWAY
LOTSA VIEWS OF THE MOUNTAINS AND CITY
NO ROCKS,, CAVES OR WATERFALLS THIS TIME

FOLLOWED BY POSSIBLY HEALTHY FOOD AND SOCIALIZING AT THE COUNTRY DELI, 9901 TOPANGA CANYON BLVD AT LASSEN STREET (note: the French toast with strawberries will turn you into a supporter of government run health care, which is what they have in France....)

Hike is about 8 miles round trip, out and back. Elevation gain is 850 feet and trail is a wide dirt road. Difficulty: is medium due to hike length.

THIS IS A GUITAR HIKE.....I WILL ATTEMPT TO PLAY AND SING AND DO MY TAXES AT THE SAME TIME.

We start at Ed Edelman--Topanga Summit park, which was slated until the mid-1990's to be a golf course. We will walk alongside Topanga blvd for a half mile. Next we visit the Topanga Summit Overlook. Following the Summit to Summit fireroad, we will then pass thru a recent purchase by the Mountains Conservancy and reach the halfway point at Old Topanga Canyon road.

BRING: snacks, fruit, comfortable hiking shoes, 20 gallons of water, a hat, sunscreen, all your troubles in a paper sack....

PARK: at east end of Viewridge road which is a half mile east of Topanga Canyon Blvd. and just south of a gated neighborhood
