Take a 2 HOUR free tour of the somewhat famous Mount Rexmore preserve. THE TRAILS HAVE BEEN FRESHLY TRIMMED AND WEEDWHACKED! The 120 acres was purchased in 2013 with proceeds from bake sales by a Meetup hike leader to save the wildlife migration corridor between the Santa Susana mountains and the Simi hills.

It is home to at least 40 types of native flowers, trees and sagebrush, plus deer, bobcats, lizards, hawks, rattlesnakes and Mountain lions. (For more info and photos etc: see mountrexmore.com)

DISTANCE: 3 miles. Difficulty: moderate. Hike is all on trails and monkeying around on the nearby rocks is optional. Elevation gain is 500 feet.
