BACKGROUND:

The Rim of the Valley park system is a 100 mile long circle of wild parks surrounding LA's San Fernando Valley. It has been purchased from private owners over the last 45 years by city, county, state and national Park agencies with our tax dollars and is approximately 95 percent complete. The last five percent that is privately owned is in the northwest valley and today we will explore one of the last three un-conserved parcels.

The owner has an agreement with the State of California's Mountains Recreation and Parks Authority to sell the 175 acres of rocks and sagebrush for $1 million.
