Shaded Water Hike: rock scramble & Swim in the sun At TOPANGA CREEK water hole

THIS HIKE IS FOLLOWED BY A 4PM HIKE AT STONEY POINT AND A TRIBUTE CONCERT AT 6:30 IN SIMI, both posted separately

There is a porta potty in front of Jalan Jalan Imports, home of Owl Falls, WHERE WE MEET. and we will check out their 40-foot tall roadside waterfall. We will then walk a quarter mile towards the ocean on the west side of Topanga Canyon Blvd to just south of the "slippery when wet" road sign. We will then enter the mysterious Time Tunnel and drop down to the creek.

Bring swimwear, a hat, lots of water, shoes you can get wet, an umbrella: don't get cooked by the sun!.

DISTANCE: 1 MILE BUT AT A SLOW PACE

DIFFICULTY: moderate

ELEVATION GAIN AND LOSS: A HUNDRED FEET AT THE MOST

THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR POISON OAK CONTACT.

THE TOPANGA CREEK HIKE FOLLOWS THE WEST SIDE OF CREEK FOR MOST OF THE ROUTE AND FEATURES LOTS OF CLIMBING OVER 3 TO 4 FOOT TALL BOULDERS. There are also a few rusty car bodies to avoid.

YOU WILL USE YOUR HANDS AS WELL AS YOUR FEET. THAT'S WHY I CALL MY HIKES "MONKEYING AROUND".

CLIMBING OF BIGGER BOULDERS IS OPTIONAL.....

FASTER....TAKE THE 101 FREEWAY TO TOPANGA CANYON BLVD, GO SOUTH 9 MILES...park along Topanga Canyon Blvd south of Fernwood Market, meet outside Jalan Jalan Imports, an outdoors furniture store on the west side of the road Jalan Jalan Imports is located at 525 South Topanga Canyon Blvd., which is 3.5 miles north of Pacific Coast Highway.

FREE PARKING IS ALONG EITHER SIDE OF TOPANGA CANYON BLVD. BETWEEN FERNWOOD MARKET AND JALAN JALAN IMPORTS--STAY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE WHITE LINE SO YOU DON'T GET TICKETED OR LOSE YOUR MIRROR. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO NO-PARKING SIGNS!!! --------------------------- --
