A Midweek Intermediate-Advance Level hike. The 4.2 mile loop that starts at Brand Park, at 895 feet, and peaks at Las Flores Motorway at about 2500 feet. The initial 2 miles are mostly up a single steep trail and the elevation gain is 1600'. The hike is short but hard!
There will be two rest points: first one at 0.9 mile for a quick regroup and condition check up. Anyone that falls to far back should return back to the park at, or, before the first point. The second point is the peak, 1.2 miles later. We'll rest a bit, snack, enjoy the view, and before it's to chilly, head back down from the Beaudry South Motorway.
Important: the descend from Beaudry (first 1/10 mile) to the park is steep and good traction trail shoes are necessary . As an Intermediate-Advanced hiker you should be able to breakaway from the group and return to starting point on your own.
This is NOT a slow pace hike. The difficulty level is NOT for beginners. This is a high intensity hike up a steep trail, very steep at times. Intermediate-Advanced level hikers should be tested. You must already be well conditioned before attempting a hike like this.
