OVERNIGHT BACKPACK: Mt Pacifico via PCT from Mill Creek

Distance: 13.1 miles, out & back
Elevation Gain: 2,368 ft
Campground Elevation: 7,100 ft
Water: NONE at campground.
You must carry in at least 4 liters of extra water with you.

Directions: From La Cañada take Hwy 2 about 9 miles to Angeles Forest Hwy (N3). Continue on N3 for another 16 miles until you reach Mill Creek Summit Picnic Area.
Takes about 45 minutes, max, from La Cañada.
Adventure Pass required to park.
Campground: This is a beautiful & spacious campground at the top of Pacifico Mountain which overlooks the entire Antelope Valley below.
Enjoy the spectacular night time views, with city lights of Palmdale and surrounding desert communities in the far distant.

This is the “back side” of the San Gabriel Mountains.

The campground is also popular with PTC thru hikers. It has pit toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables.
We camped up there over the Memorial Day weekend (on our mountain bikes) and it was gorgeous.
