Urban Hike with Stairs-Mt Washington, Moderate +

Join us AT 6:00 PM for an evening urban hike with stairs that will take us through the hilly areas of Mt. Washington, an historic neighborhood north of Dodger Stadium. Now that we are in DST, we will also get to hike through Elyria Canyon Park, where you will feel like a brief escape from the city.

LEVEL: Moderate + for brisk pace and staircases. My pace is a bit fast, but will pause briefly at top of hills and stairs to regroup, and to pet doggies.
You must be able to keep up with the group. There is no sweep so if you stay behind you will be on your own
LENGTH: appx 5 miles, 2 hours.
BRING: exercise clothes, workout shoes (hiking shoes are not necessary as trail sections are short), poles optional, flashlight, sunscreen, water, phone with GPS in case u want to leave early, bug repellant?
MEETUP SPOT: **Aragon Ave elementary School, 1118 Aragon Ave ** Los Angeles, CA 90065. In front of the main entrance stairs. Between Roseview and Loosmore Streets. You may have to Google directions manually as the Meetup link might be wonky.
MEETUP TIME: 6:00 pm sharp. We will have quick introductions and leave at 6:05pm.
PARKING: FREE Street parking on Aragon Ave, side streets Roseview and Loosmore.
RESTROOMS & WATER: Restrooms are available at Cypress Park Branch Library. You can park by our meet up spot and go before the hike starts. It's a short walk around the corner and across Cypress Ave.
LIABILITY: The organizer is an uncompensated and untrained volunteer. By joining this event each member accepts full responsibility for knowing their limits, for all injuries, health issues, material losses, assessing all risks and for getting lost. Each member shall make their guests aware of these policies and releases the host from all liability.
