Urban Hill Hike in Annandale, West Pasadena, Level: Moderate(+)

Come join us for a nice workout and for meeting new people to do an urban hill hike in Annandale, an upscale part of Pasadena!

We'll park in San Rafael, cross the freeway and climb up the steady, moderate incline to the see the multi-million dollar homes and beautiful views. At the top we'll pause for just a few minutes and then we'll backtrack a bit and take a different route back.

LEVEL: This hike itself is moderate (no steep inclines or rough terrain) and rated moderate plus only because of our speed. We are a friendly group that loves to socialize and encourage newcomers, but please note that moderate+ level of cardio fitness and brisk walking speed are required.

LENGTH: 6 miles, 850 ft gain, no stairs, + /-2 1/4h.

SPEED: Brisk, faster than most moderate hikes, but well below advanced ones. We will have a few short pauses to re-group. There will be no sweep, bring a phone with navigation just in case you want to leave early.

BRING: Exercise outfit, workout shoes (hiking shoes are not necessary as the trail section is short) and water

START TIME AND RESTROOM: We'll meet at 5.45pm for introductions and take off sharply at 5.50pm.
Restrooms are available at the library, but please be back by 5.50pm.

PARKING: Free street parking.

PLEASE NO CRASHING! Urban hikes do not work well with large groups. I "overbook" events in anticipation of some last-minute dropouts, so you cannot count on those spots will be available. The waitlist, if needed, generally clears in order, but members with a good attendance record and a posted picture (LA Hiking Group rule) may get priority.

LIABILITY: The organizer is an uncompensated and untrained volunteer. By joining this event each member accepts full responsibility for knowing their limits, for all injuries, health issues, material losses, assessing all risks and for getting lost. Each member shall make their guests aware of these policies and releases the host from all liability.
