Urban Hike, Mt Washington, Moderate +

Join us AT 6:00 PM ** for an evening urban hike that will take us thru hilly residential areas including 3 staircases all going UP. We will also hike through Elyria Cyn park before making our way down Mt Washington drive. After that there is a very steep but short trek UP to Kite Hill for some nice city views. So lots of ups and few downs.
LEVEL: Moderate + for BRISK pace, STEEP hills and long staircases. My pace is a bit fast, but will pause briefly at top of hills and stairs to regroup, and to pet doggies.

This is not a beginner hike.You must be able to keep up with the group as there is no sweep. If you fall behind, use your GPS to navigate around the neighborhood on your own.
LENGTH: appx 5 miles, 2 hours.
BRING: exercise clothes, workout shoes with good tread or you will have trouble on Kite Hill. The majority of the hike is on asphalt and concrete. Poles optional, sunscreen, water, phone with GPS in case u want to leave early, bug repellant? Flashlight is ok but careful not to aim at people's faces.
MEETUP SPOT: Aragon Avenue Elementary School, 1118 Aragon, Los Angeles 90065.
MEETUP TIME: 6:00 pm sharp. We have quick introductions and leave promptly at 6:05.
PARKINGAlong Aragon, Loosmore, or Roseview
RESTROOMS: At the Cypress Park Library located on Cypress Ave near Loosmore. Give yourself appx 20 minutes to park and walk to the library and be back by 6:00 pm. Or more time if you don't want to rush.
LIABILITY: The organizer is an uncompensated and untrained volunteer. By joining this event each member accepts full responsibility for knowing their limits, for all injuries, health issues, material losses, assessing all risks and for getting lost. Each member shall make their guests aware of these policies and releases the host from all liability.
