Palos Verdes Malaga Cove - Urban Hike (with stairs)

Details
DESCRIPTION - The Palos Verdes Peninsula is a hidden corner of Los Angeles with miles of hiking trails and fantastic views. It also is a few degrees cooler than the central city which makes it a great area to explore in late summer/early fall. This hike will walk on streets and dirt trails (as well as 7 stairways) in the Malaga Cove area. We will also take a short trail down to Bluff Cove. You might even hear or see a peacock or peahen along the way.
LENGTH: – 5 miles. Elevation gain is ~900 feet. Duration – 2.5 hours.
SPEED: - Brisk, faster than casual walks, but we'll take breaks at points of interest.
RESTROOMS – None on the walk. Malaga Cove Ranch Market and Yellow Vase have restrooms for customers. Plan accordingly.
PARKING - Parking is free and unlimited on Sunday at Malaga Cove Plaza and the surrounding streets.
WEATHER: Rain will postpone the hike.
CAUTION: - Please follow all traffic and pedestrian rules. We will walk mainly in areas without sidewalks and with some blind spots on the roads. We will also cross several busy streets without benefit of a light or crosswalk. Use extra caution.
