Morning hike 8.5 miles round trip with 4,000 feet elevation gain and descent. Advisory: our esteemed hiking leader believes in the glorious virtues and excellency of uphill trails and recommends adopting a similar uphill-loving mentality.
This is an advanced level hike. The group will make the ascent and reach the West Baldy Summit from the Ski Hut Trail in 2 hours and then descend the same route for about the same amount of time. Group participants able and willing to reach the summits earlier are encouraged to do so. Group participants unable to keep up pace will be left behind and encouraged to meet with the group at the summit.

Summit (West Baldy) Distance: 4.25 Miles
Elevation Gain: 4,000 Feet
Time Expectation: 2 hour 15 minute (2 hour up, 15 minute down, 2 hour down)
Must Bring: Water, Trail-Ready Footwear
Recommend Items: Light, Map/Gpx, Walking Poles, Energy Bar, [Winter: Gloves, Warm Layer], [Summer: Sunscreen, Hat, Glasses]
Evacuations: serious injuries will result in the group immediately returning to the nearest trail exit
Cancellation: Rain (See forecasts for >20% precipitation), Heat (>95 fahrenheit / >35 celsius)
Disclaimer: You are responsible for your own health and safety. Know your limits and, if unsure, ask before joining. These are strenuous hikes and you will be expected to reach the summit rapidly. Previous hiking experience- especially at Mount San Antonio- and ability to maintain group pace are implied prerequisites to accompany these group hikes.
