Veterans Day Holiday, Intermediate Hike, Griffith Park

Tuesday is a holiday. Let's hike!

What? Tuesday (11/11): moderate / intermediate outing - Griffith Park.

Time and Overview: Approx 4-5 miles and two (2) hours.
- Anyone who needs more pause than minimal breaks should plan to use GPS to navigate solo back to the parking lot. Please bring a cell phone for this possibility. We'll do an average of 2.5MPH pace.

Round trip: start and end at the same point. 4-5 miles. Per Google MAPS, Approx 600 ft elevation up and then back down. (It may feel like more of an elevation change than this.)

Parking: Merry Go Round Lot 1. (The first parking lot you drive through when turning off Crystal Springs Dr. up “Fire Rd.” Turn right. PARK. We meet at that parking lot entrance – near the road closure boundary .)

Details: Some extended, steep portions. Limited stopping. Lots of loose sand / dirt, especially on descent. Wear grippy hiking shoes and bring water. Poles are not super helpful, but you do you. Extended pure sun areas – wear a hat, sunscreen, and layers.

Bathrooms: Real, flushing ones open to the public. Within a 5 minute walk of start/end point.

Leashed Dogs: Welcome.
