Let's be tourists in Venice, California! This fun urban hike is moderate level due to no hills or stairs. The pace is brisk but stops at street crossings to quickly regroup.
Some highlights of this fun and unique urban day hike include:
The Venice Walk, the canals, the lively boardwalk, and trendy Abbot Kinney.
LEVEL: Moderate with brisk pace.
LENGTH: min. 5 miles, 2-2.5 hours.
BRING: exercise clothes (recommend pants if you are sensitive to plants), workout shoes with good traction and tread. The majority of the hike is on asphalt and concrete. Water, snacks, Poles are not necessary. Sunscreen, hat, water, phone with GPS in case u want to leave early, bug repellant?
MEETUP SPOT: Oakwood Recreation Center, 767 California Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90291. Outside the building at the corner of California and Oakwood Streets.
MEETUP TIME: 9:30 am sharp. We have quick introductions and leave promptly at 9:35.
PARKING: Free residential street parking. Please read the signs. Along Oakwood, California, and surrounding streets. Drive carefully, it's residential.
RESTROOMS: None at the start. ARRIVE EARLIER IF YOU NEED TO GO-There are some at Ralph's Mkt. If you arrive early, drive to Ralph's Mkt before we start. It is on Lincoln Blvd near California. Restrooms also at Venice Beach.
WATER: You can buy along the way or refill at Venice Beach.

By joining this event each member accepts full responsibility for knowing their limits, for all injuries, health issues, material losses, assessing all risks and for getting lost. Each member shall make their guests aware of these policies and releases the host from all liability.
