Enjoy hiking the nicest part of the mt wilson trail below orchard camp. Things are recovering nicely after last years fires. This hike is roughly halfway up to Mount Wilson, and can serve as a guide to see if your fit enough to make it to the top. Lush conifers, shade and ferns adorn this part of the trail. About 8 miles and 2,300' of gain. We will be hiking a steady moderate pace and taking a short break at orchard camp. Please allow extra time for parking, and make sure to turn your front wheels to the curb to avoid parking tickets.
*restroom facilities and water at the trailhead.
*leashed dogs with poop picked up are welcome.
*please arrive early to find parking, there is a 10 minute grace period.
*there is no trail sweep so please try to keep up with the group pace, feel free to turn around if you are not able to keep up.
*I ask that you don't go way ahead of me as I try to determine a fair pace for everyone and I don't want to be yelling instructions ahead to keep people on the straight and narrow :)
*no crashers please.
