Fryman rainforest side entrance

This less used entrance to our hike avoids the main parking lot. Things are nice and lush now, the hike is 7 miles with 1,400' of gain and is considered moderate. We will be exploring some less frequented trails as well as the popular ones. The hike can be made shorter by returning down laurel canyon rather than returning down the trail once we get to the main parking lot. Although much of the green grass has turned colors, the hike is mostly shade covered. Leashed dogs are welcome. We will take our break at the rainforest where you get to go under a large eucalyptus tree that blew over during some heavy winds. There is no designated trail sweep on this hike, so if you can't keep up with the moderate pace you'll have to be comfortable hiking on your own.
