Urban Hike - Hidden Hollywood Neighborhoods

DESCRIPTION - This walk is an exploration of interesting Hollywood neighborhoods that you may not see on your own unless you know they are there, including the Hollywood Dell, Hollywood Knolls, Outpost Estates and the High Tower. Along the way, we will see the detailed ornamentation at the very unique George Ehling Mosaic House, the nearby Hollywood Hills boat houses, and the late David Lynch's house (designed by Lloyd Wright) among other highlights. There are a few stairways but plenty of hills to give you a good workout. Because of the distance between the neighborhoods, this walk is longer than usual.

LENGTH: – 8+ miles. Elevation gain is ~1400 feet.

SPEED: - Brisk, faster than casual walks, but we'll take breaks at points of interest.

RESTROOMS – No restrooms at the start. We'll stop for port-a-potties at the Hollywood Reservoir.

PARKING - Parking is unlimited along La Presa.

WEATHER: Rain will postpone the hike.

CAUTION: - Please follow all traffic and pedestrian rules. We will walk mainly in areas without sidewalks and with some blind spots on the roads. Use extra caution.

LIABILITY: - The organizer is an untrained and unpaid volunteer. By joining this event each member accepts full responsibility for knowing their limits, for injuries and health issues, for material losses, assessing all risks and for getting lost. Each member shall make their guests aware of these policies, also, and release the host from all liability.
