Mt. Islip Trail Maintenance

Meeting location: Gateway Center on Hwy. 39 in Azusa. North of town where the road narrows to 2 lanes. Look for the large turnout on the right side.

Please join the San Gabriel Mountain Trail Builders as we work on trails in the Crystal Lake area. Our main focus of this trip is to remove overgrown brush on the Mt. Islip Trail. This will be a 6 mile round trip hike with 1600' elevation gain going up the Windy Gap Trail. Shorter hike options available.

We try to accommodate each persons needs regarding tasks and hope that you have a productive and enjoyable experience. We will provide tools but you can bring your own if you prefer.

Pants & long-sleeved shirt, good boots/hiking shoes are required. Hard hat, gloves and safety glasses can be provided. Please be sure to bring plenty of water and your lunch.

We expect to be back to the Gateway Center around 4:30 pm.
