Fun Outdoor Workouts!

Are you looking to add cardio workout during the week? Join us on the Griffith Park trails for a TNT workout! It's an intense workout with a fast pace start-to-finish, the group members are motivating, the views are amazing, and being outside feels great! Individually we push the pace as the group heads towards Mount Hollywood and at the peak we marvel at the view a few minutes before blazing back to the parking lot.
Please read all of the details before signing up.

TNT are interval training workouts: it's a fast pace start-to-finish, there are short bursts up hilly sections, the pace is faster on some of the flat & downhill sections, & the big climbs are individual goals. The group is typically in small clusters during the intervals (climbs, fast sections, etc.) and individually not far apart. There are quick recover points -brief stop or brisk walking pace- and a break at the top but the group enjoys moving fast start-to-finish So let's burn calories, build strength, and increase stamina. Pack light for a fun-fast pace!

Members that want to try a TNT workout for the first time should join us on the first Tuesday of the month because its typically a shorter route. The last Tuesday of the month should not be your first TNT worktout. The organizer or a sweep stays between the "Blazers" and the members in the process of improving their endurance or the members that are trying the workout for a first time. The organizer/sweep will wait at the regroup junctions, No Member Left Behind. The only request is that you desire a good workout to improve your endurance and are willing to push the pace start-to-finish

The Plan: Amir's Garden - Triple Threat
Follow the Mineral Wells Trail west towards the garden & connect to Amir's Trail (1st set of stairs). Take AT up to the garden where we'll hop back on the MWT & go down to climb the 200 stairs back up to the garden. After the 200 stairs we'lll drop down again on the MWT and do a third climb up a very steep road that has several switchbacks. We'll eventually reach Vista Valle Drive & connect to the Mount Hollywood Trail & then head towards Mount Hollywood. At the peak we'll catch our breath & enjoy the view for a few minutes. Then we'll go north towards Water Tower 113, pick up the Bill Eckert Trail & finish the workout.

Bonus: climb north face of Mount Hollywood

Tonight's route can shorten. Depending of the pace of the lead Blazers some TNTers will skip the 200 stairs, the steep road climb, & the bonus climb. Be prepared to keep a fast pace start-to-finish.

Points: Parking Lot (565'), Amir's Trail (580') Amir's Garden (780'), 200 Stairs (570'), Mount Hollywood (1625')
