THIS IS PART 1 OF TWO ROCK EXPLORATION HIKES IN THE AREA THAT I AM DOING (although I am only leading this one). SINCE I'LL BE OUT HERE AND I WANT A FULL DAY OF PLAYING, I'M SCHEDULING THIS ONE IN THE MORNING.
Saddle Peak has a bunch of rocky ridges with cool rocks suitable for scrambling. No ropes or special equipment is required. The view of the ocean and the city is always spectacular. We will take the backbone trail up to the peak with about 500 feet elevation gain, then explore the rocks, then take the Stunt High Trail down to Stunt Road and return via the road to our cars.
We'll have lunch on top of the rocks.
HIKE LEAVES AT 10 AM, SO PLAN TO GET THERE AT 9:45 TO GET YOUR HIKING SHOES, ETC, ON. WE WILL WALK STRAIGHT WEST FROM THE PARKING AREA PAST A LARGE WHITE WATER TANK TOWARDS SADDLE PEAK WHICH HAS ANTENNAS ON TOP
THE HIKE GOES IN A CLOCKWISE DIRECTION (LARGE RED DOTS ON MAP)
