Living as we are, in such uncertain times, requires two main key allies.
First, a Tarot Deck or some form of divination to seek clarity, insight and guidance from. Second, a bloody good sense of humour, a way to step back from the shit-show and reframe it, so as to reclaim the power from it, and view it from a place where alternatives may present! This Series is all about how to approach the mad mad world we are living in while using both of these tools!
In just six weeks we have no ambition on delving into the arcane blah blah of the Tarocchi (fancy-ass Italian historic name for the Tarot). Neither can we promise to give you a sense of humour, if you hadn’t had one to begin with. What we can do is help ya find it, as we guess you, like us, may have lost track of it during this crazy rollercoaster ride we are on! We can also show you how to approach the Tarot in a basic way to get it talking to you without all the years of study. We will delve into the practicalities of various spreads, how to approach the questions, and how to interpret the answers the cards present.
Join us, Goat & Griffin (and of course Carrie), for some heavy-duty witch cackling with some mischievous mis-dealings of the cards. We hope to get into some key subjects of life, from an outside of the box perspective, as well as introduce you to a really interesting room full of characters of the Tarot, grouped into cliques, to make it easier to get a handle on how to play with them!
Warning: we are part of the Ced Tradition and we have our own Ced Trad Deck. We do not plan on just working with this deck. As all decks that speak to us open doors, right? But our experience with creating and working with the Ced Deck, means we have insights into the Tarot from before the Rider Waite Deck, and our working with the underlying cosmos of the Tarot has given us what some folks today would see as a heretical approach! Maybe we should have called this the Heretical Tarot series, just for shits and giggles.
The Series will be very open and free form. Be ready to get in and play in our sand box with us! Which is our way of saying, we have never done this before and we have no idea where this may go – the possibilities are endless!
Note* We start each week at 7.30pm with open general discussion during the first half hour so people running from work may make it to the class proper, which starts at 8.00pm.
Class fees:
$33 per class; $153 for week Series if paid in full by first class (a $5 per class savings when paid in full; it brings the price to $25 per class).
