More info: The Kronia was an Athenian festival in the era of the Ancient Greek Stoics held in honor of Cronus (Kronos) during the summer. It was appropriated by the Romans and celebrated by them as Saturnalia (Saturn was the Roman equivalent of Cronus). They both commemorated a mythical "golden age" that existed when Cronus/Saturn ruled the world long ago. In this time, there would have been peace, prosperity, and freedom among all people. For Stoics, these are things that are always within reach—they do not depend on external circumstances—and we can reflect on this during the event. Enjoy the peace that comes from fostering a sense of community with others; enjoy prosperity by recognizing that your happiness does not depend on anything outside your control; and enjoy the freedom that comes from always having your moderate desires satisfied.
Do I need to prepare for the event? NO. Though, there may be a handout at the event itself.
AGAIN, PLEASE CONTACT JUSTIN IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS.
