February meeting: THIS WORLD DOES NOT BELONG TO US

For February we'll be reading THIS WORLD DOES NOT BELONG TO US by Natalia García Freire, translated by Victor Meadowcroft.

"This World Does Not Belong to Us by Natalia García Freire is a dark, gothic novel about a man named Lucas who returns to his childhood home to seek revenge on the two men who took it from him and his family years ago. The story, told through Lucas's unsettling perspective, focuses on themes of decay, revenge, and the natural world, as he allies with insects to reclaim his inheritance, leading to a chilling tale of psychological horror and family trauma."

The translation to English by Victor Meadowcroft was shortlisted for the TA First Translation Prize.
