About us
A "sangha" is a community of Buddhist practitioners and followers who support each other on their spiritual path and practice mindfulness together. Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. We follow the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh ("Thay").
We are a relatively new sangha currently with just a few members. Our practice currently consists of meditating, listening to dharma talks together, dharma sharing, and inviting the bell throughout as we return to the present moment. We currently meet in a study room at the Livingston Public Library but are considering moving to a new location further east.
NOTE:
Cynthia Chan is the founder of Lotus sangha, and you will find her details and a weekday morning meeting time associated with this sangha on plumline (where all the sanghas in this order of Buddhism are aggregated). Since Cynthia doesn't use Meetup, she prefers to manage the morning meetings via email. If you are interested in learning more about the morning meetings, please email cynthia33chan@gmail.com.
