Louisville Bitcoin Meetup

This is the original (since 2013!) Louisville Bitcoin Meetup, typically scheduled for the first Sunday evening of each month. You might also want to check out our Louisville Cross-Reality Crtpto Club (XRCC) meetup, typically held every Thursday evening.

We also have ad hoc gatherings from time to time. And there are several other fantastic blockchain and crypto meetups in Louisville and surrounding areas. Be sure to check them out as well!

Meetup location is CONFIRMED in "the lounge" area on the top floor at DiOrio's, 919 Baxter Ave.

Tonight, we'll be talking about a couple of related topics: 1) the Lightning Network--what it is, the advantages, how you can use it with a mobile Lightning wallet, how you can easily spin up your own Lightning node now, and 2) BTCPay--a free, open-source project that mimics BitPay's API, allowing you to accept crypto payments (including Lightning), run web stores, and receive tips or donations directly, with no centralized company or middleman taking a cut. Tim Totten will be doing a live demo, and anyone who attends is welcome to set up their own free account on Tim's BTCPay Server.

We are always looking for presenters, so if you have a topic you'd like to share with the meetup, please contact the organizers, or just shout it out in the discussion. As long as you are not running some kind of scam or blatantly promoting a scheme in your own self-interest, we are happy to consider just about any topic in the crypto space.
