What we’re about
As a rural dweller the number of people I can discuss reading, writing and literature with is a tad limited. Groups in the Horncastle-Louth -Wolds area are few so this is an opportunity to expand a network of like-minded people. I envisage hosting or rotating venues for live, regular meetings, daytime, and maybe evenings seasonally. The group would be mixed, up to 8 mbrs.
If interested, it would be good if you are fairly widely read although a degree in Eng.Lit., whilst a possible asset, would hardly rank as a membership criteria; it is more an appreciation of plot and prose and preferably a liking of 'contemporary', C20 modern novels, perhaps short stories, poetry and essays too. It may help to list a few ballpark favourite writers: Barnes, Shields, Lively, Boyd, Towles, Sebald, McEwan, Auster, Dyer..
