Lovelanders Awakening

Hi Friends,
We were going to call this event “Conscious Elderhood”, but...

In this youth oriented culture, we have very few role models of what it looks like to age gracefully AND be valued for our power, wisdom, and passion beyond the age of 50. It may even be considered wild to be a so-called “senior” actively creating and pursuing the best of life!

Just think of the words we inherit as we become persons of age - “geezer”, “old timer”, “silver surfer” - okay, Boomer!

And yes, our bodies age… we have our share of aches, wrinkles and memory lapses. Spiritually, we may become more contemplative, dwelling on the big questions of who/what/where am I? The loss of friends and loved ones, not to mention changes in our own sexuality, become impossible to ignore, and we invariably face our own regrets and self-judgements.

This inner work can be overwhelming, or immense, as author Frances Weller points out. And at the same time it can be a springboard to realizing our authentic Self: “Becoming immense includes the radical act of welcoming all of who we are into the story of our elderhood.”

We are Diana and Glenn, together for ever (we’ll let YOU guess how many years old), learning every day how to venture out and return to Love, nourished and accepting of ourselves and each other.
