The Low Light Photo Group discusses tips and hints on the "whats" and "hows" of preparing yourself for Low Light Photography. Also, future events and a photo review!

## About this event

The Low Light Photo Group meets bi-monthly online to discuss upcoming events and offers a photo review. Foto Dono hosts the meeting on Zoom. He also records and uploads it to his YouTube Channel.

You are welcome to participate in A Show and Tell Photo Review. An open-themed photo review to share, review and talk about your more recent work. Also, a chance to bounce off ideas on work in progress.

# Guidelines for Show and Tell

  • You will have until the night before to upload up to three of your favorite images. Upload the photos via MeetUp. Otherwise, you can send them to Foto Dono via Dropbox or Google Drive at fotodono@gmail.com.
  • Please list the camera type, lens (if zoom, which focal length), aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and lighting details (type of light, placement, modifiers, powers of strobes).
  • If you cannot attend, please include the following - Why did you take the shot? What was the goal, and did you achieve it? If you could, what would you change? The information will help others and Foto Dono when they review your work.

There is no fee for this event. However, if you wish to leave a tip or buy a cup of coffee for the host, you can do so at the following link - https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/fotodono.

What is Low Light Photography? In its simplest definition - Creating photographic images with a small amount of light. However, this can describe a wide variety of pictures. Either you are taking photos in the shadows during the day, just after sunset, or in the middle of the night where only you can see the brightest objects. With cameras becoming better at capturing images, there are more and more opportunities with less light. You can record breathtaking and creative pictures of the night sky. Show the passing of light across the sensor with light painting—record amazing city scenes at night and peer into the shadows to see the minor things.

Here is a brief history of the Low Light Photo Group.

The Low Light Photo Group started in January 2017 with about five active participants and developed into 20 to 25 active participants — an email list with over 250 people fascinated by low light photography. It started as an extension of his job as the Director of Education for John PhotoImaging (JPI), along with a passion for creating images in low light. Foto Dono also moderates a Facebook Low Light Photo Group Page as a way to engage and share with people who've attended past events — sharing images, tips, and tricks. You can find announcements for group meetings and field trips on their Meetup Page.
