Pop-Up Protest at City Hall
Details
Protest with SHL! ✊ in front of City Hall at 2 pm on Sunday, October 12th.
Join us as we stand up for First Amendment freedoms—including the separation of church and state, press freedom, and freedom of speech and assembly.
📢 Bring a sign if you’d like (we’ll have extras on hand if you don’t).
To comply with Charleston’s restrictive protest ordinance, we’re capping this action at 24 participants. When you RSVP please also email Bonnie Cleaveland (activism@lowcountryhumanists.org) with your phone and email so we can confirm your spot.
👉 Why the cap? The City of Charleston requires a permit for protests with more than 24 people and has been forcing permitted groups into out-of-the-way locations like Hampton Park. To make our voices heard in well-trafficked downtown spaces, we’re joining Silence Is Not an Option's (SINO) effort to hold pop-up protests every 2nd Sunday of the month, each in small groups of 24 or fewer.
Come make your voice heard!
