The Friendly Infidels Movie Club: Animal Farm

Join your humanist friends at the 3:15 showing of Animal Farm on Sunday, May 3rd at Citadel Stadium 16. It is a new animated adaptation of George Orwell’s classic political allegory. This reimagining brings Orwell’s tale to life with animation, satire, and an all-star voice cast. Following the farm animals’ rebellion against human oppression, their dream of equality gradually gives way to corruption, propaganda, and tyranny. Animal Farm purports to offer an exploration of power, justice, and the fragility of freedom—hopefully making it a good film for discussion among humanists. Whether you know the story well or are experiencing it for the first time, this adaptation should provide cinematic experience with social relevance.

After the movie those who wish will be going to dinner at Taste of Thai, located at 874 Orleans Rd, near the theater, for drinks, food and to discuss the film. If you don't want to attend the showing, feel free to join us to discuss the film afterwards. We should get there around 5 pm, depending on the number of commercials and previews. If you want to reach out to me ahead of time, I'd be happy to text you when we leave the theater. Please just let me know so I can try to get a big enough table.
